Padauk Cane - Black/Blue Orb resin head piece on a Padauk shaft
Hand made, one of a kind
My Canes are beautiful accessories to any fantasy costume. Sturdy and meant to used and should last a lifetime. My canes do not come with any type of foot for stability, but are carved to accept a standard rubber tip for more security if you like.
This Padauk was first coated in black resin to fill and secure the significant checking in the wood. When it was split into blanks and doweled into round it brought out terrific black fissures of resin running through the wood.
The Orb resin head piece was caste and then pinned with quarter inch mild steel and then fastened deep into the top of the cane with resin. All this work makes the head piece feel like a part of the wood.
Cane was finish with three coats of lacquer and a leather collar.
39 inches tall. (to give you a sense of scale our model is 5’10”)
